Mini Satellites Spawning Intelligence Into The Universe
Researchers from Cornell University have created a mini satellite spacecraft they call "Sprites" that measure just 1cm x 1cm and include basic spectrometers, load sensors to measure particle impacts, chemical sensors, and simple CMOS cameras.
We discuss sending millions (nay, billions!) of these mini spacecraft into space, toward every piece of visible light in the night sky. They are a little bit like the primitive version of spawning nanotech intelligence out into the Universe.
